About The Project
Old Man Charters offers private and personalized boat tours from Wanchese, North Carolina, giving guests a relaxed way to explore the Outer Banks from the water. Their experiences include dolphin sightings, wildlife viewing, scenic sound cruises, sunset tours, optional swim stops, photo opportunities, and a closer look at the local maritime culture of Wanchese. The website needed to present these experiences in a clearer, more engaging way while helping visitors quickly understand available cruise options, pricing, trip duration, group capacity, and what makes the charter experience personal. The redesign focused on improving the structure, strengthening the visual storytelling, and creating a smoother journey from discovery to booking.

Old Man Charters had a strong local experience and a highly personal service offering, but the website needed a clearer structure to explain its different cruise options. Visitors needed to quickly understand the difference between daytime cruises, sunset cruises, and public cruise options without searching through scattered information.
The existing presentation also needed stronger storytelling around Captain Vic, the Wanchese departure location, dolphin and wildlife encounters, private group experiences, and the authentic local boating atmosphere. Since many visitors browse and book while planning vacations from mobile devices, the site also required better mobile readability, stronger calls to action, and a simpler booking-focused layout.
