About The Project
Snow Buddy Sled Dog Adventures offers hands-on dog sledding experiences on Dunckley Pass, just south of Steamboat Springs. The company gives guests the choice to learn to mush and drive their own sled with guidance, or enjoy a fully guided ride through Colorado’s snowy backcountry.
The project focused on creating a clearer, more organized website that presents the available excursions, the story behind the company, the rescued sled dogs, the crew, guest expectations, gear information, and booking options in a simple and engaging way.

Problem
Snow Buddy offers more than a standard sled ride. The experience includes hands-on mushing, scenic backcountry trails, dog care, safety preparation, shuttle considerations, gear guidance, adoption awareness, and multiple excursion types. Because of this, the website needed a structure that could explain the full experience without making visitors feel overwhelmed.
The site also needed to clearly communicate the company’s mission. Snow Buddy is not only an adventure business; it also provides a refuge for retired and rescued sled dogs, with tours helping support their food, shelter, veterinary care, and long-term wellbeing.
Main Objective
The main objective was to build a clearer and more booking-focused website that helps visitors understand Snow Buddy’s excursions, prepare for the trail, meet the team and dogs, and feel confident choosing the right sled dog adventure.
Our Approach
We restructured the website around the way guests naturally evaluate an outdoor adventure: the experience, the excursion options, the safety details, the location, the guides, the dogs, the reviews, and the booking path.
The content was shaped to make each tour easier to compare, including Half Day Learn to Mush, Full Day Learn to Mush, Sunset Dinner Excursion, and kennel tour information. We also gave stronger emphasis to the rescue mission, the crew’s experience, guest preparation, and the emotional connection between visitors and the sled dogs.
Key Improvements
- Organized excursion options into clearer service pathways
- Improved tour descriptions for learn-to-mush and guided experiences
- Highlighted the rescue and refuge mission behind the brand
- Added stronger trust signals through reviews, awards, and team content
- Made gear, safety, and trail expectations easier to understand
- Created clearer calls to action for booking adventures and learning more

The Results
The redesigned Snow Buddy Sled Dog Adventures website now presents the brand’s tours in a clearer, warmer, and more organized way. Visitors can easily understand the available experiences, what to expect on the trail, how to prepare, and how each booking also helps support the care, comfort, and long-term wellbeing of rescued and retired sled dogs. The updated content also highlights the personal, hands-on nature of the adventure, making the experience feel more memorable and meaningful.
